How do I turn one topic into a week of social and blog content?

4 min read

Answer one buyer question in a blog, then rewrite that idea into platform-native social drafts and schedule—one intent for the week, not seven unrelated posts. That keeps SEO/AEO, social, and sales aligned without inventing a new theme every weekday.

Pick one buyer question for the week

Start with intent, not a content calendar color. Good week-seeds:

  • A comparison your buyers search (“voice-cloned posts vs generic AI”)
  • A how-to they ask sales (“brand-safe rules before Agent Mode”)
  • A definition that clears confusion (“what is AI writing-voice cloning”)
  • An objection you hear on calls (“will AI replace our social manager?”)

Write the question as the working title. If you cannot state it in one line, you do not have one topic yet—you have a pile.

Avoid stuffing the week with seven unrelated hooks. Variation should be angle and format, not a new ICP problem every day.

Blog first: make the canonical answer

The blog (or long LinkedIn article / docs page) is the source of truth for the week:

  1. H1 = the question
  2. Opening paragraph = the map answer
  3. H2s = proof, steps, caveats, CTA
  4. One primary WordPress category that already exists (exact name) or Uncategorized

Why blog first?

  • You think once at depth
  • Social has something durable to link to
  • Assistants and search can cite a stable URL
  • Your team stops arguing about “what we meant” mid-week

Aim for useful length, not padding. A clear 900–1,400-word answer beats a thin 400-word tease and a bloated 3,000-word essay nobody finishes.

Draft in your writing voice—trained on real posts, not a one-line tone prompt, and not audio cloning. Review before publish.

Per-platform rewrite (same intent, native form)

Do not paste the blog into every network. Rewrite:

PlatformShapeJob
LinkedInShort narrative or tight list + linkAuthority + discussion
XHook + one insight or thread beatsReach + curiosity
Instagram / FacebookCaption + visual cue; link in bio/site as neededAwareness
Email / newsletterOne section excerpt + CTA to full postOwned audience

Each piece should still answer (or tease) the same buyer question. Change examples, length, and formatting—not the core claim.

Voice-cloned drafting helps here: generate platform variants from the same profile so LinkedIn does not suddenly sound like a different company than X. Work on phone, web, or desktop independently; keep human approve.

Schedule without repeating intent as spam

A week might look like:

  • Mon — Publish blog; LinkedIn post announcing the answer + link
  • Tue — X thread: three supporting points from the H2s
  • Wed — Short tip post (one tactic from the article)
  • Thu — Story or objection-handling angle (still same question)
  • Fri — Recap or “save this” checklist linking back

You are rotating angles, not restating the same sentence five times. If a draft feels like a duplicate, cut it or save it for a later refresh when the page gets updated.

Scheduling tools matter less than intent discipline. Whether you use a voice-aware draft+publish workflow or a classic scheduler, the rule is the same: one question, many native cuts.

Exact WordPress category when you connect

If WordPress Connect (or similar) only matches categories that already exist and never creates terms:

  • Pick the exact category name from WP (Marketing, Tech & AI, etc.—whatever your site already uses)
  • Or use Uncategorized when nothing fits
  • Do not invent a new category string in the drafting UI and expect the plugin to create it

Tags in your drafting app can still label themes for your own site. WP categories stay exact-match.

A simple weekly checklist

  1. One buyer question written down
  2. Blog drafted and reviewed
  3. Exact WP category assigned
  4. Three to five platform-native social drafts from the same intent
  5. Schedule set; links point to the blog
  6. One human owns final approve

That is enough to run a serious week without a war room.

Common failure modes (and fixes)

  • Seven unrelated posts — Fix: write the week’s question on a sticky note; delete drafts that do not serve it.
  • Blog never ships — Fix: shorter useful article beats waiting for perfect.
  • Identical copy everywhere — Fix: platform rewrite checklist before scheduling.
  • Wrong WP category — Fix: copy-paste the exact existing term; else Uncategorized.
  • No owner for approve — Fix: name one human; AI does not count.
