What happens after my free 5 posts?
You can still log in, connect platforms, configure your voice and brand rules, and draft posts. You just can’t publish until you subscribe. Your drafts and settings are saved.
What’s the difference between cloud AI and local AI?
Cloud AI uses PostMimic servers to generate posts. It is fast and works in the web portal, the Windows/Mac desktop app, and the App Store app — and each generation counts against your monthly cloud-post allocation. Local AI runs on your own computer through Ollama. It is free, unlimited, and stays on your machine, but it needs a local GPU (or a machine that can run the model). Install Ollama, pick a model, and PostMimic will detect it. Local and BYOK generations do not count against the cloud post cap.
What does BYOK mean?
Bring Your Own Keys. On any paid plan (Starter, Pro, Business, or Agency), you enter your own API keys from providers such as DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, or xAI. You pay that provider directly — usually pennies per post — and save $10/month on your PostMimic subscription. The $10/month BYOK discount applies to paid plans, not Free.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your account settings. Changes take effect at your next billing cycle. No contracts, no cancellation fees.
Is there a free trial?
All paid plans include a 3-day free trial with full access to every feature in your tier. Credit card required. Cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged.
What platforms does PostMimic support?
X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. All four are available on every tier, including Free. Facebook posting is Pages only — Meta removed personal-profile (timeline) posting from the API in 2018. You can publish to Facebook Pages you manage, not to a personal Facebook profile.
Do unused posts roll over?
No. Unused cloud posts do not roll over. Your monthly cloud-post allocation resets at the start of each billing period. Posts generated with local AI (Ollama) or your own API keys (BYOK) do not count against the cloud limit and are not affected by the reset.
