What's the difference between PostMimic Free and the paid plans?
Free = a small try of AI posts in your voice; paid raises volume and how many voice profiles you can run. The jump is not "AI appears"—it is how many cloud posts you can generate, how many profiles you keep separate, and which shipping tools (library, scheduling, blog writer, Agent Mode) unlock once you outgrow a proof.

Free: prove the voice, not the calendar

What you get:

What Free is not: a full production calendar. After the five cloud posts, you can still log in, connect platforms, tune voice and brand rules, and keep drafts—publishing requires a paid plan. Local/BYOK draft-only on Free helps you test privacy paths without pretending you have unlimited cloud publish.
Use Free to import or connect a real posting archive, generate a handful of drafts, and decide if the writing voice is worth upgrading—not to run a month of multi-client campaigns.
Starter: volume + library for one voice
Starter ($19/mo) is the first production tier for one person (or one brand voice):

Choose by how many distinct writing voices you must keep separate and how many cloud generations you burn in a normal month. Agencies that blend client archives into one profile get average mush—pay for profile count when voices must not mix.
Local and BYOK generations do not count against the cloud post cap on paid plans (and are draft-only on Free). Unused cloud posts do not roll over.
BYOK note: save $10/mo on paid plans
Bring Your Own Keys (DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, or xAI): apply the BYOK modifier to any paid plan and save $10/month. You pay the provider for usage; PostMimic drops the subscription by that amount. The $10 discount applies to paid plans, not Free.
BYOK and local Ollama are for teams that want keys/costs/privacy under their control—or offline generation on a machine that can run the model. They are not a substitute for choosing the right cloud post and profile tier if you need cloud scheduling and portal features.
